First of all: I STILL EXIST! And now I'm hijacking the news. Oh snap.
So, as Phil stated last week, My record label Lambda Records is joining the Xiin Network. Well as part of this new alliance I've recently jumped ship from my old webserver that was located in India of all places, and moved into a nice cozy corner of the Xiinet server!
So, how does this move affect you? Well, now that LR is on a server that's 100x more reliable than the one we were using, and I'm not being IP banned left and right for using the FTP (Horrible glitches, Do. not. ask.), I'm going to start working on a massive overhaul of Lambda's site in addition to the redevelopment of GYN and Xiinet as a whole.
The Lambda 2.0 project will hopefully include the following:
-- An overhauled site layout and new color scheme. (It's going to look quite snazzy) -- The inclusion of Lambda Records forums in the Xiinet central board (Mentioned last week in Phil's announcement) -- A new News system similar to the one used by MarioMedia and GYN (Which is currently being developed by Phil) -- A new Twitter aggregator that pulls all the artist's twitter statuses into one nice big sidebar for all too see (This is proving to be a big problem, as twitter apparently hates me in every possible way and I am NOT that good with PHP coding) -- The obligatory Xiinet branding. (Well obvisouly, It's part of the network now!) -- Many other small secret things that I can't be bothered to list tonight.
So all in all it's a nice update for Lambda.
And now for something completely different:
NRV News
I recently released a new remix EP with AkelixE (another artist signed to LR) entitled "Rejected". It consists of 7 remixes of tracks from the albums I released in 2009, a mix of the first single from my upcoming album "Outsider", plus a mix I made of one of AkelixE's tracks from his EP "Nerinix". Rejected is being released free of charge (like all material on Lambda), So you can go Download it Here, if you're interested!
So that's all the lambda-related news for now, I'll post more later when I actually get into development!
-Matt | Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie have been added to the N64 section of the Mario Media Browser. Enjoy the always great music of Grant Kirkhope. | No More Heroes 2 has been added to the Wii section. It's a rip from the disc, so the best I could do for now is rename the tracks I recognize. When the official soundtrack comes out, I will upload that. | I'm just here to inform everyone that I've completely re-tagged the entire New Super Mario Bros. Wii OST now. No more random file name, and fully tagged . Enjoy!
-GY | Just thought I'd keep a heads up with how we're progressing
We've definitely got the network structure officially planned sorted, and have been working heavily on themeing and bringing some aspects (if not, all) of the websites into a web 2.0 feel. As you can see right now, the current GYN theme is very run-down and fairly out of date.
Anyway, we're still working within the IPB 3.0.5 test build and making a few skins in there, however it's proving to be a horrible nightmare. The style sheets have at least QUADRUPLED in size from version 2!!! It's very hard to navigate around the thing, but I can assure you it's worth the wait
So for those who are interested in business structures, let me give you a break-down of what the new network schematic will look like:
Xiin Networks http://xiinet.com The 'umbrella' for the entire network. However, unlike before it will be at a non-commercial level. It will be more of a 'corporate' location which simply lists all the websites me and Rhade do, then have our personal profiles as the main sections of the place. This place will only be linked in the footer, as a copyright statement.
----The GreenYoshi Network http://greenyoshi.com ----It will solely be a Yoshi fan site. I'm keeping its 'network' label as it will still be a network of yoshi fans, rather than a network of other randomly tagged websites. This place IS currently in the process of redevelopment, but has been put on the backburner as the new forum is a much more important issue.
----Mario Media http://mariomedia.net ----Of course, we've recently completed this renovation and given it its own URL, finally. I dont think much explaining is needed here
----Lambda Records http://lambdarecords.net ----Yes, Rhade's music website is being pulled into the Xiin Networks umbrella! If you haven't seen it before and like DnB music, go check the place out! They've been on the net for a while and could do with the further support.
As for the boards, they will all be sharing the same 'main' forums, but each website will have its own area, and will be branded independently. This is the main reason why there's a delay to the upgrade to IPB 3.0.5. If we could just update the current one and work from there we would've done so ages ago since it's very shiny, however the coding is done so differently, so we pretty much need to do all the themeing again. It needs it anyway.
No sneak preview as of yet I'm afraid, it's all fairly messy XD
Will add more info where and when possible
